Almira
The Narrative
Almira is inspired by the film character "Almira Gulch" from the movie "The Wizard of Oz". In the film, Almira was a strict, unkind teacher living in Kansas who wanted to confiscate Dorothy's dog, Toto.
In Oz, she turned out to be the Wicked Witch of the West, who fought Dorothy and her friends. This interpretation shows Almira in her youth, whose red face and stern gaze gave an early glimpse of her wicked side.
"By capturing the genesis of a classic cinematic villain through an intense, chromatic distortion and a piercing gaze, the artist masterfully exposes the psychological roots of malice, projecting the dark destiny of the witch onto the fragile canvas of youth."
